Indranee Rajah Urges More Outreach to Address Bone Marrow Donation Concerns

Would you donate bone marrow?

In Singapore, some registered donors who are successfully matched with patients still withdraw at the final stage due to lingering concerns. Yet medically, bone marrow donation does not harm the donor’s health.

Dr Frederick Yeo, a doctor dedicated to treating paediatric cancer locally, spoke at a “Bone Marrow Donation Appreciation Sharing Session” co-organised by Tzu Chi and the Bone Marrow Donor Programme (BMDP). He encouraged more people to come forward and join the donor registry, sharing that this precious “gift” is what allows patients to return to normal lives.
